Love Letter is an audiovisual piece about implied love between child and parent. The work is experienced one person at a time. Seated at a desk, the viewer sees the words of a letter addressed to my mom projected onto a piece of paper while listening to the sound of me speaking to her on the phone.
This piece serves to expand notions of familial love. It materializes my belief that love does not need to be verbalized to be real. I hope that by making accessible this slice of my own life, I can prompt the viewer to reflect upon their own familial relationships and reconsider what manifestations of love may look like in their own families.
