Oath
The presidential election of 2016 ushered forth an era of fake news, alternative facts, and non-truths. In today's political climate, we find ourselves questioning the credibility of our public institutions – the White House, Congress, the Supreme Court, the press.
I took the sworn oath and situated it in front of Philadelphia's City Hall. Using the form of political protest, I confronted the American audience with words they already knew, prompting them to reconsider those words given the current context. This project was executed on September 26, 2018, the day before Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's historic hearing before the American public.
